Spiderhole Completed
This has been a pretty long road in some respects, although in relation to what I was once told in LA about the time one should be prepared to ingest as an average from the start date, the script written, to the day it shows on the big screen, 7 years. I heard that back in 2003.
I reckon digital technology has had a influence over that number, but for Spiderhole it has been 33 months, and that includes having had a production screening last September, at the Dingle Film Festival, where the film was by in large already completed, thus 19 months, but I am including in the above time frame the garnering of an official Distribution deal in a major territory, and the movies actual release under their aegis to the general public, and having this done in Leicester Square in London is no mean feat.
Tonight I am very excited to see Spiderhole played off the DCP master at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin in Cinema 1, their largest screen with 258 seats in a beautiful auditorium, the screening is at 19.20 and is part of the Horrothon Film Festival. It would be great to see you there.
This is the actual first public screening of that master and so tonight, the 23rd of October 2010 is that end date, the initial energy to make this movie kicked off over a conversation on January 28th 2008 and now Spiderhole begins a new life as a movie strutting into the public domain.
