Spiderhole Irish Premiere Nov 25th

The Tralee Omniplex Irish Premiere Screening was very special for all involved. This has been an episodic saga since those days when we were shooting the film literally 300 yards behind the Theatre complex. Many people have come to be involved in that journey and many of those were here to witness what it was all about writ large on the biggest screen we have showed the movie on to date, and played from the DCP master in a newly installed surround sound system.
There was a palpable air of excitement form those that came out to support the movie, and it was a real pleasure for me to see so many smiling faces and feel the firm delighting hand shakes of approval and respect for what it is that we have worked so hard to accomplish.

Spiderhole Republic of Ireland Cinema run begins

Working the Irish Cinema route has been a challenge, and now all those energies are flowing together with four impressive screenings around the corner in both Counties Kerry and Cork on what I feel is needed to really show off Spiderhole, The Big Screen. And the bigger the better.
Tralee's Omniplex sreen 2 is their second largest, capacity 230 seats, and in actual size the single biggest cinema, and biggest screen we will have shown on to date. I worked with the projectionist on Friday and was newly awe struck by the visual quality and magnificent sound inherent in the movie and on plentiful display here in this Tralee's newest digital DCP cinema.
Having the movie screen in Tralee is of course special as 90% of this feature film was shot in a mansion built in 1827 and situated about 400 yards behind the Cinema Complex. A lot of talented individuals that gave their time and energy, and local business people that lent their support in all manner of ways, and their families and friends can now come and see what it was all about in the splendid environment of this impressive theatre.

London UK premiere
Back in Ireland now after a number of days of excitement and fun in London, the UK premiere at The Empire Leicester Square brought out a wonderful gathering of excited characters buzzing around the foyer of the cinema, as Daniel Simpson, the Writer and Director of Spiderhole radiated joy and delight at the prospect of what was about to unfold.
The actors arrived all looking beautiful and buzzing with anxious energy and anticipation as this was their first time seeing the movie. Joanne O'Sullivan, Executive Producer, Samantha Cookson, Daniel's girl friend, and Abigail Simpson, Daniel's sister, all sparkled adding a heightened sense of glamour to the occasion. The handsome and talented Jason Cooper, our composer of the films score was in attendance, as was the ever impressive looking Artist Michael Simpson, Daniel's father, Kevin Goodman our multi-tasking-talented all rounder, Samantha Sheehan the SFX artist on Spiderhole had made the journey from Portugal, family and friends accompanying her, to where a general swirl of lovely spirits filled the theatre.
Lights down, and I introduced Daniel who made a touching and comprehensive speech fully illustrating the significance of this moment, his first feature film being screened in such a prestigious central London cinema. It was a special night, and the story continues as screening after screening takes place even now, since the demand for the movie has inspired The Empire to extend the run for another week, please go along and experience it for yourself...
